Instagram Photo-A-Day Challenge & Giveaway!!!

Starting tomorrow, all of us here at Holzweiler will be competing in a Photo a day Challenge against each other for the entire month of May.

Basically, anyone can participate, and people all over the world will take part in this, but to make things more interesting for us, we decided to make it a bit of a competition.

Each day I will post each of our Instagram photos from the prior day, with the corresponding theme, onto the blog and then you guys will vote on whose you think is best for that day. So the first day to vote will be Wednesday May 2nd.

What's in it for you??? Well at the end of the month, we will have a giveaway where a winner is chosen at random from the list of voters fro the month. Each vote you make, gets you into the contest again. So make sure you are voting everyday!!

As always, the winner must be a blog subscriber, so make sure you take the extra second to put your email into the "Follow Holzweiler Via Email" section to the right!---->

Aleksandra Ørbeck-Nilssen African Tour

I always feel so inspired (and a little jealous) when I look at Aleksandra Ørbeck-Nilssen's Blog Nanofasa. It is one of my biggest dreams to be able to go do the kind of work she is doing in Africa to assist and rehabilitate animals. 

Just look at her pics....how amazing it must be to cuddle with a leopard as if it was a small house cat!

If you're not familiar with who she is, here is her bio from her blog:

"The world is my house and each country is just an other room in the house. I was born in Norway where i grew up as a real viking...I now work as an actress in NYC, Model in Paris and NYC and act as an animal conservationist in Africa. I believe there are no limitations in this world as longs as you live the life you love. In my case, this manifests in saving animals-> bringing them back to the wild, as well as developing new ideas and techniques within conservation and acting on stages/movie screens in Norway and NYC. New Boutique: Vanessa Cardui in Majorstua

Earlier this month, Elisabeth Jacobsen & Carola Edwardsen opened their new boutique Vanessa Cardui in Majorstua. 

They stock their store with special, hard to find products that will "increase your sense of everyday luxury". They carry both clothing and interior goods inspired by New York and Paris in the 20th century, stocking brands such as our very own Hunkydory and Gestuz.

The store is so beautiful, you must go in and see it for yourself. 

In the meantime, I will let the photos speak for themselves.

New addition to the family...Ida Camilla Pedersen

Today's Monday morning meeting was for 2 very important things...

One you will have to wait to find out more about....(sorry to be a tease), 

but the other more important reason, was to welcome our new girl Ida Camilla to the Holzweiler Team!

We are very happy to have her, and welcome her to our little family!

Tons of love from Costume Magazine May Issue

I have a very specific way of reading magazines. 

I don't know where it started, but I have some bizarre steps i go through...

First, whenever I get a new magazine, I HAVE to be the first one to open it! There is just something about a brand new magazine...I can't explain it. Simple pleasure I suppose.

Next, I go through the entire magazine, and "dog-ear" or bookmark each page I want to look at more in depth. Once I have gone through cover to cover, then I go back through to all of my bookmarks and really read through them.

However, at work when I go through magazines, I always bookmark pages that our brands are on, and then go back through and look at them more in depth when I scan them all.....

Today, when going through Costume, I realized I had quite a few bookmarks! 

I love when that happens!
