The story of red

Red

is the color associated with 

danger, sacrifice, passion, love, anger, socialism and communism, and in many cultures with 

happiness.

The word red, comes from old English, and is traced back to Sanskrit, Ancient Mesopotamia and Inuit (the language of Eskimos), it means blood. Even in the old Slavic Russian language, red means beauty and excellence. 

Writing about red, it indulges me to wish for a glass of redwine. It also makes me think of love, christmas, kissing, the red carpet, war, and shiny ruby red stones for a beautiful ring. Red lips.. Like Tailor Swift,Penelope Cruz, Angelina Jolie, Ashley Greene, Marilyn Monroe, Megan Fox or Jessica Biel

Tons of love from Costume Magazine May Issue

I have a very specific way of reading magazines. 

I don't know where it started, but I have some bizarre steps i go through...

First, whenever I get a new magazine, I HAVE to be the first one to open it! There is just something about a brand new magazine...I can't explain it. Simple pleasure I suppose.

Next, I go through the entire magazine, and "dog-ear" or bookmark each page I want to look at more in depth. Once I have gone through cover to cover, then I go back through to all of my bookmarks and really read through them.

However, at work when I go through magazines, I always bookmark pages that our brands are on, and then go back through and look at them more in depth when I scan them all.....

Today, when going through Costume, I realized I had quite a few bookmarks!

Retail and Other Therapies...

It is one of the most beautiful days that I can remember here in Lysaker! Days like today, when we sit outside and take a few minutes to take it in, really do seem to have an effect on our overall moods. 

I was curious about this, so looked into it (ie: Googled) and found that there is research showing that the sound of water movement actually alters wave patterns in the brain putting you into a
relaxed and unstressed state....makes sense!

So, I wondered what other little useful tidbits I could find that would make everyone's lives happier and therefor healthier...

....here are some interesting and very useful facts narrated through some of Springs trends of course!

Fact: Eating a generous amount of Garlic will keep you from getting the flu!
Fact: Chewing gum while cutting an onion will keep your eyes from watering.

Here at Holzweiler, it was Christian's last day, and even though it is really sad to see him go, we are all thankful for having had him as part of the team for so long.
